Beach Patrol

Shore Beach Service provides year-round beach patrol for the entire 13.5 miles of beach on Hilton Head Island. During the peak summer season, our patrol consists of over fifty lifeguards, (at various locations in areas indicated in the map below ) eight patrol vehicles, and a surf patrol boat.

Our supervisors can be found patrolling the beach in red trucks marked "Beach Patrol" or on red four-wheelers. Please do not hesitate to find a lifeguard or flag down a beach patrol vehicle if you need help or to ask any question. We can assist in first aid, ocean rescue, missing persons, beach specific questions, or any other questions you may have about the island. Each member of our staff has access to two-way radios which allow for communication to all points on the beach. In addition, these radios provide us with a direct line of communication to the 911 dispatch office for both medical emergencies and assistance from the sheriff's department.
